Hello! > 1) Do I need to *umount* them before installing/configuring drbd? > 2) Do I need to delete from /etc/fstab every reference to /dev/sda3 > (my > sync partiton) before configuring drbd? You can use an already existing partition. If you're a first timer you're probably better off with creating a new filesystem on top of drbd. Unmount and remove your partition from fstab. Then follow the drbd user's guide at http://www.drbd.org/docs/install/ . This _will_ create a new filesystem (like "mkfs.ext3 /dev/drbd0"). Additinally you'll need a cluster manager (heartbeat, pacemaker) or a cluster filesystem. goog luck, juergen
