Linstor does not work directly on the hard drives, that is usually handled by a different layer, typically LVM or ZFS. So as long as you manage to do the required steps on those layers, then Linstor will happily adjust to the changes. Personally, I think that the safest option would be to create a different RAID/LVM VG or ZFS pool for the SSD drives, introduce them to Linstor/Proxmox as "storage pools" and finally move the VMs one by one from one pool to the other.
