Just out of curiosity: what exactly makes you think that's excessive?
For a 10GbE network, that's pretty much the expected RTT. Now, there
have been some performance improvements in recent kernels, so you might
want to upgrade to a, say, 2.6.35+ kernel. But expect at best a slight
improvement, not a latency drop by an order of magnitude.

If 70µs is really too high for your needs, then you can consider
switching to InfiniBand or Dolphin Express, which DRBD equally supports.
