DRBD 8.3 is compatible, it will accept from 8.2: - configuration (*1) - wire protocoll - meta data on disk ... and upgrade from 8.2 to 8.3 is completely seamless, and can be done in as "rolling upgrade". > I am trying to decide how to handle the 8.2 to 8.3 transition in CentOS > Extras (a conflict or an obsolete in RPM). I think is should be the natural upgrade path. (*1) The "outdate-peer "handler got renamed to "fence-peer", but the parser accepts both. Automatic update of the config file could by done by "drbdadm dump all > /etc/drbd.conf_new" The reason that it is called "drbd-8.3" instead of "drbd-8.2" because a number of new features got included (stacking), but there where not fundamental internal changes. -Phil -- : Dipl-Ing Philipp Reisner : LINBIT | Your Way to High Availability : Tel: +43-1-8178292-50, Fax: +43-1-8178292-82 : http://www.linbit.com DRBD(R) and LINBIT(R) are registered trademarks of LINBIT, Austria.
