Hi Everyone,

We are currently trying to set up a HA/Load-balanced system with two apache
nodes and two storage nodes.

The storage nodes are running DRBD 8 in primary/primary configuration with
Ocfs2 and all is working as expected.

However, we would like the file-system requests from the apache nodes to be
shared between the two drbd nodes and, in the event of a failure, all
requests to be directed to the surviving node.

True load-balancing of NFS doesn't appear to be possible so we believe we
need a Heartbeat 2 configuration where we would have 2 floating IP's, one
for each apache node, the idea being that Apache1 would always be talking to
DRBD1 and Apache2 will always be talking to DRBD2, but in the even of a
failure the floating IP that was pointing to the failed server would
failover to the other DRBD node.

Does this sound like the ideal solution and if so can anyone offer any
advice on how we go about it?

Alternatively, are there better ways of achieving what we are trying to do,
or are there alternatives to NFS that can be reliably load-balanced?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Simon
