there are some other counter values for various things.
these may or may not be 32bit integers
(well, on your box probably 64bit, so it may not be an issue).
if one of them wraps, you are screwed.
which ones, and where exactly in the code, and on which storage size
I currently just do not know.

try it -- I guess on a 64bit arch it may just work.
again, this is not tested. my gut feeling is that it will probably
break on 32bit archs, and that it may work up to 16TB on 64bit archs.
the later limit is just a "feeling", too -- I'd have to carefully read
the relevant pieces of code again to be more specific; and first
identify which pieces are relevant, of course :-)

if it does not work ... oops :-/
