In addition to that we would > like to have a third server at remote site with only /drbd0 mirroring > without any failover. > > Please let me know if this is possible. with current out of the box drbd, no. we have some unfinished bits and pieces though, and want to support this setup in 0.8, or maybe in a drbd-0.8-you-pay-us-for-usage-of-special-features version... sorry, no timeline, yet. what you can do is * drbd on top of LVM, every now and then LVM snapshot on current secondary, mount snapshot, rsync to off-site backup. * drbd on top of drbd current-local-primary <-> remote-allways-secondary / \ local-A <-> local-B where the stacked local drbd is a cluster resource, which is always stacked on top of the current local primary. its a tricky setup, at least when something went wrong, so think about a good emergency plan, and write every single step down. then exercise it twice :) Lars Ellenberg -- please use the "List-Reply" function of your email client.
