[Csync2] How to Troubleshoot Sync Errors

I've got four systems that are synchronizing FTP data together. After a 
while, files get conflicted: a file is deleted from the main server 
(where it was first created), but is not deleted from the other three; 
other times, files show as conflicted because the ownership is 
different, or permissions are different.  I'm trying to track down the 
root of the problem, but it seems like a nightmare.

I thought about turning off permissions and uid/gid checking, but that 
feels like a kludge.

Can anyone offer some suggestions?
