What type was it CDROM, DATABLOCK or OS?

In my case it was OS.

So you uploaded netboot.xyz image to the local storage of the front-end and then instantiated a vm with that disk, and you can see (linstor resource list) the disk on linstor??

Apart from a bug that I just fixed (pushed to github) this worked for me, except I used a self uploaded netboot.xyz<http://netboot.xyz> image (not from marketplace).

I'm not sure I fully understand what you are trying to do.
You have a local image(DS_MAD fs?) and want to deploy a VM with it in a linstor system context?
Or just transfer a image between datastores?
