"A full snapshot causes both the snapshot itself and its origin volume to fail." https://drbd.linbit.com/users-guide/s-lvm-snapshots.html Our experience is, that the origin can be used without interruption. Any experiences in which situations the origin can get into trouble when a snapshot gets full? Hi Christoph, this is more hearsay than anything else, I hope somebody who knows LVM in more detail jumps in... This is what a "trusted source" ;-) told me: Thick LVM: In previous times the whole pool blocked. Probably the reason for this warning in the user guide. This should be solved for thick LVM. Thin LVM: Can still block in recent RHEL 6.x versions. Regards, rck
