Thanks Artnold, been all over that page for 8.4 ... I have c-max-rate=100M and resync-rate=100M (for all resources). The "want" is ok but the actual speeds never total more than say 40M, it's like stuck on some 30% threshold. Yet rsync is able to consume 122M nic-to-nic. I just can not get drbd to exercise the disks. -Henk 1: cs:SyncTarget ro:Secondary/Primary ds:Inconsistent/UpToDate C r----- ns:0 nr:30411544 dw:30411544 dr:0 al:0 bm:0 lo:0 pe:0 ua:0 ap:0 ep:1 wo:f oos:27312503072 [>....................] sync'ed: 0.2% (26672364/26702064)M finish: 657:07:29 speed: 11,540 (12,760) want: 112,640 K/sec 2: cs:SyncTarget ro:Secondary/Primary ds:Inconsistent/UpToDate C r----- ns:0 nr:26457880 dw:26457880 dr:0 al:0 bm:0 lo:0 pe:0 ua:0 ap:0 ep:1 wo:f oos:27316457760 [>....................] sync'ed: 0.1% (26676228/26702064)M finish: 822:58:59 speed: 9,212 (11,104) want: 112,640 K/sec 3: cs:SyncTarget ro:Secondary/Primary ds:Inconsistent/UpToDate C r----- ns:0 nr:14164288 dw:14164288 dr:0 al:0 bm:0 lo:0 pe:40 ua:0 ap:0 ep:1 wo:f oos:27328751352 [>....................] sync'ed: 0.1% (26688232/26702064)M finish: 747:25:58 speed: 10,148 (5,948) want: 112,640 K/sec 4: cs:SyncTarget ro:Secondary/Primary ds:Inconsistent/UpToDate C r----- ns:0 nr:20091672 dw:20091672 dr:0 al:0 bm:0 lo:0 pe:0 ua:0 ap:0 ep:1 wo:f oos:27328979044 [>....................] sync'ed: 0.1% (26688456/26708076)M finish: 672:59:41 speed: 11,260 (8,432) want: 110,160 K/sec ________________________________________ From: drbd-user-bounces at lists.linbit.com [drbd-user-bounces at lists.linbit.com] on behalf of Arnold Krille [arnold at arnoldarts.de] Sent: Friday, October 24, 2014 2:27 PM To: drbd-user at lists.linbit.com Subject: Re: [DRBD-user] drbd storage size On Fri, 24 Oct 2014 14:12:41 +0000 "Meij, Henk" <hmeij at wesleyan.edu> wrote: > a) raise that limit temporarily with commandline calls (see the docs) > > if you could point me to the sub command that would be great - this > is about the initial first sync for 8.3: http://www.drbd.org/users-guide-8.3/s-configure-syncer-rate.html#s-configure-syncer-rate-temporary for 8.4: http://www.drbd.org/users-guide-8.4/s-configure-sync-rate.html#s-configure-sync-rate-temporary - Arnold
