Note: "permalinks" may not be as permanent as we would like,
direct links of old sources may well be a few messages off.


You you use drain or none, then performance is maximized.  However, he risk
of data loss with these two has increased compared to using barrier or flush
modes; so you better have a goo implementation of battery backup, redundant
power, etc.... to ensure the servers never lose power due to unforeseen
circumstances.
