Well if this is really standalone heartbeat, i.e. without Pacemaker, you had better ditch that setup straight as soon as possible and replace it with one based on Pacemaker. And of course, it's not an extremely good idea to reconnect your DRBD and recover from split brain while there is still (evidently) a cluster partition. So you need to fix your network issues, ensure that your cluster is properly communicating (I assumed you had), and only then should you reconnect your DRBD. Hope this helps.
