All, I'm trying to get my head around these proposed new drive commands. They result in "discarded" sectors / blocks / erase units having the data in them become unstable / unreliable. Yet there is no proposed command to let you know the status of individual sectors, etc. If curious and you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can see the thread I'm participating in at: http://marc.info/?l=linux-ide&m=123266840917245&w=2 Has anyone on the drbd side given any thought to this? I don't think drbd will be impacted one way or the other. ie. No benefits / negatives that I can think of. Might need to add some code to let the discard bios get through to the device and be mirrored to the remote device, but I doubt that is a significant amount of work.
