Hi, Here is my config file: (I tried to make it as simple as possible) global { usage-count yes; } common { protocol C; } resource r0 { on mach1 { device /dev/drbd1; disk /dev/hdb1; address 66.159.32.31:7789; meta-disk /dev/hda3 [1]; } on extra1 { device /dev/drbd1; disk /dev/hdb1; address 66.159.32.11:7789; meta-disk /dev/hdb2 [1]; } } NOTE: I know you cannot mount the device on the secondary and I am working on the primary. I have followed the instructions on the http://www.drbd.org web site for installing drbd. I have downloaded the source and compiled it successfully. I have run into 2 problems. I cannot do drbdadm attach r0 if I have /dev/hdb1 on mach1 mounted. How do i work with a drive that has data already on it? The instructions say to drbdadm attach r0 but it does not work if the partition is mounted. So I did not mount the partions and went through the rest of the instuctions. All seems to be ok and I have this from /proc/drbd root at mach1:/etc# cat /proc/drbd version: 8.3.1 (api:88/proto:86-89) GIT-hash: fd40f4a8f9104941537d1afc8521e584a6d3003c build by root at mach1.cronomagic.biz, 2009-04-20 15:21:15 1: cs:SyncSource ro:Primary/Secondary ds:UpToDate/Inconsistent C r--- ns:1300768 nr:0 dw:0 dr:1300768 al:0 bm:79 lo:0 pe:0 ua:0 ap:0 ep:1 wo:b oos:6956236 [==>.................] sync'ed: 15.8% (6792/8060)M finish: 5:26:04 speed: 324 (316) K/sec If I try and format /dev/drbd1 root at mach1:/etc# mke2fs /dev/drbd1 mke2fs 1.35 (28-Feb-2004) Could not stat /dev/drbd1 --- No such file or directory The device apparently does not exist; did you specify it correctly?
