Hello all, I know this might be a package conflict issue but I do not know how to resolve it. After upgrading to CentOS 5.3 I recompile the RPMs of drbd 8.3.0-3 for the new kernel 2.6.18-128.1.1.el5. The compilation runs smoothly however I cannot perform the installation of the RPMs. This is the error I get: yum install ./drbd-8.3.0-3.x86_64.rpm Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * base: helios.imbb.forth.gr * updates: helios.imbb.forth.gr * extras: helios.imbb.forth.gr * centosplus: helios.imbb.forth.gr * addons: helios.imbb.forth.gr Setting up Install Process Parsing package install arguments Examining ./drbd-8.3.0-3.x86_64.rpm: drbd-8.3.0-3.x86_64 Marking ./drbd-8.3.0-3.x86_64.rpm to be installed Package drbd is obsoleted by drbd82, trying to install drbd82-8.2.6-1.el5.centos.x86_64 instead Resolving Dependencies --> Running transaction check ---> Package drbd82.x86_64 0:8.2.6-1.el5.centos set to be updated And I press Control-C. How to compile the RPMs in a way that will make the system automatically think the newly compiled RPMs of 8.3 are newer then the 8.2 version?
