what is it that you think is missing to call it "fully implemented"?

there is one fundamental problem: v08 UUIDs can express more
than v07 generation counters. it is impossible to convert them back.
that makes the back conversion fundamentally broken.

but as long as you make sure your drbd is in "Secondary/Secondary
UpToDate/UpToDate" before you take it down and back-convert, there is
nothing that can go wrong.
