Acually, it appears from your output that syncing is in progress:

I think Lars is trying to point out that you are using a non-journaling
filesystem (ext2) for a primary/primary setup. You probably want to a
filesystem that is better suited for that kind of thing. Now, I don't know
why he won't just come out and say it that way.
