Usually drbd is not acivated in the initial ramdisk, so when the lv vgscan command runs in the initial ramdisk, the drbd device is not active yet - thus it does not detect the PV - normal behaviour. In most instalatons the cluster manager (e.g. Heartbeat) will take care of activating the volume group on drbd0 and mouning file systems. If you do not use a cluster manager, you can use your own init script to activate the LVM's on drbd and make sure this init script is called after drbd's init script. > this is a very odd behaviour. > > suggestions? > > >
