Hello, list We have a couple of Dell 2650 machines which we have had quite a lot problems with. They are impossible to get stable under load with 2.6 at all (a whole other story), and with 2.4, drbd-0.7 just freezes the boxes completely. Running Debian Sarge, this is reproducable both with the module-source-package that comes with Sarge (0.7.10) and with a custom build 0.7.14 from the drbd.org tarball. To reproduce: 1. Take a couple of 2cpu Dell 2650 machines, load them with Debian Sarge, kernel-image-2.4.27-2-686-smp, drbd0.7-utils and drbd0.7-module-source 2. Build and install drbd kernel modules with module-assisstant 3. Make a drbd volume on one large mirror, for example a mirror of 136GB volumes 4. Do a 'mkfs -t ext3 /dev/drbd0' and watch how mke2fs starts up and the system freezes completely. No error messages at all, even on the console. 5. Reboot, remove the debian packages and build drbd-0.7.14 from drbd.org tarball. Repeat step 4 with exactly same results. drbd-0.6 seems to work flawlessly.
