Hi all, yes, I can confirm the extrem slow sync speed of drbd 0.7.12. I run a two node cluster with SLES9/2.6.5-7.193-bigsmp kernel and drbd on lvm. Yesterday (both nodes with drbd 0.7.11) I synced a 1 GByte 'Partition' with a throughput of around 1100K/sec. (aprox. 100 seconds to finish) Wire protocol: C Net options: timeout = 6.0 sec (default) connect-int = 10 sec (default) ping-int = 10 sec (default) max-epoch-size = 2048 (default) max-buffers = 2048 (default) sndbuf-size = 131070 (default) ko-count = 0 (default) Syncer options: rate = 102400 KB/sec group = 1 al-extents = 257 To reproduce Jeff's problem I updated one node to drbd 0.7.12 today cat /proc/drbd version: 0.7.12 (api:77/proto:74) SVN Revision: 1924 build by root at pdftpn001, 2005-08-30 11:37:48 0: cs:SyncSource st:Primary/Secondary ld:Consistent ns:37864 nr:2 dw:258 dr:37675 al:0 bm:66 lo:0 pe:0 ua:0 ap:0 [>...................] sync'ed: 4.3% (1010968/1048576)K finish: 51:20:43 speed: 4 (4) K/sec 1: cs:Connected st:Primary/Secondary ld:Consistent ns:0 nr:0 dw:0 dr:0 al:0 bm:0 lo:0 pe:0 ua:0 ap:0 2: cs:Connected st:Primary/Secondary ld:Consistent ns:0 nr:0 dw:0 dr:0 al:0 bm:0 lo:0 pe:0 ua:0 ap:0 3: cs:Unconfigured 4: cs:Unconfigured on the secondary (still 0.7.11) I invalidated 'r0' Aug 30 11:41:52 pdftpn002 kernel: drbd0: drbdsetup [6982]: cstate Connected --> WFBitMapT Aug 30 11:41:52 pdftpn002 kernel: drbd0: 1048576 KB now marked out-of-sync by on disk bit-map.
