Thanks for the help so far, Question is it possible to install drbd 0.7.4 on a redhat Advanced Server with kernel 2.4.9-e.49 without upgrading the kernel. Redhat will now support kernel upgrades, and don't seem to be able to get the source to compile without adding new kernel ? If so what needs to be done thanks Message: 5 Date: Tue, 21 Sep 2004 14:27:07 +0100 From: Steve Purkis <steve.purkis at multimap.com> Subject: Re: [DRBD-user] drbd on Redhat Advanced server 2.4.9-3.49 To: "Robert Fowler" <Robert.Fowler at ward.ie> Cc: drbd-user at lists.linbit.com Message-ID: <EF2A3839-0BD1-11D9-AC43-000A95E071BA at multimap.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=WINDOWS-1252; format=flowed On Sep 21, 2004, at 13:38, Robert Fowler wrote: > I have also downloaded the drbd version 0.7.4 source code but cannot > find details on how to compile for redhat. You'll have to install it too.. perhaps not the easiest thing to do if you're new to Linux. You may find this HowTo guide helpful: http://www.digitalhermit.com/linux/Kernel-Build-HOWTO.html > I am new to redhat and this is first time to compile something. Recompiling your kernel & getting DRBD up & running by compiling from source will be difficult if you've never compiled anything on Linux before... I suggest you do some reading.
