I've just tried drbd-0.7.5 on linux 2.6.8 and had no problems, but I'm 
not sure its not ext3 related, because I had to mount my filesystem as 
ext2 due to some problems with the kernel (ext3 module is loaded but 
kernel doesn't support ext3, /proc/filesystems doesn't show ext3).

I'm currently recompiling the kernel and will try 2.6.8 with ext3 again, 
and then i'll try 0.7.7 on 2.4 as you requested.

I'll post the results here once I have them.
