I experience the same problem, I've just upgraded to 0.6.12 and 2.4.25. I've had this problem with all the kernel and 0.6 drbd version I've used. I too am using protocol B. -----Original Message----- From: drbd-user-admin at nudlaug.linbit.com [mailto:drbd-user-admin at nudlaug.linbit.com] On Behalf Of dhz_bf at walla.co.il Sent: Thursday, April 22, 2004 7:35 AM To: drbd-user at nudlaug.linbit.com Subject: [DRBD-user] slow disk speed - anyone has experience with it I am using drbd 0.6.12 under Linux 2.4.25 and I am using protocol B between the primary and secondary. My machine is a NFS server for a number of diskless clients. I have encountered a speed problem that occurs sporadically on the server. The problem occurs while there is a lot of disk activity (I am running a process that is copying a part of the disk to another location). Sometimes, the speed of the disk diminishes considerably during such an operation. For example, the result of the normal "hdparm -t" command is ~24 MB/s. When the slowdown occurs, the results are reduced to 1-3 MB/s. Of course, this slowdown impairs considerably the use of the system. Does anyone has ay experience with such a phenomenum (with drbd or without it)? I will appreciate any insight on the problem and suggestion on how to fix it.
