        <div>I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work with a routed
          address (provided of course that your router/firewall passes
          traffic on the correct TCP ports) since it's just sending IP
          packets- it doesn't matter how they make the trip, just that
          they do. Performance might be questionable depending on the
          speed of the link. The danger of split brain would be severe-
          you'd need good fencing, as everyone always says! Personally I
          prefer to have the DR site have a regular snapshot of the data
          rather than a live copy in case of corrupted data being
          written to all your copies and then having to recover from
          backup, but it depends entirely on your application.</div>

    +1. Only other thing to add here is you might also want to look at
    drbd-proxy depending on the size of the replication link<br>
    and the rate of data change.<br>
