Well looking further online it seems the two versions are compatible!<div>Can anybody here confirm that please?<br><div><br></div><div>Now my main two questions are:</div><div><br></div><div>1) Will having different size partitions between nodes cause an issue?</div>
<div>(my meta-data is on a separate partition and not set as internal)</div><div><br></div><div>2) After bringing up my resource on the new node do I then run:</div><div><pre class="screen"><strong class="userinput"><code>drbdadm -- --overwrite-data-of-peer primary <em class="replaceable"><code>resource</code></em></code></strong></pre>
<pre class="screen"><font class="Apple-style-span" face="arial"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="white-space: normal;">ON THE OLD PRIMARY NODE? This is where the data is live and the /data partition is mounted.</span></font></pre>
<pre class="screen"><font class="Apple-style-span" face="arial"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="white-space: normal;">I want to make sure I don't kill my live site and it's data!!! :)</span></font></pre><pre class="screen">
<font class="Apple-style-span" face="arial"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="white-space: normal;"><br></span></font></pre><pre class="screen"><font class="Apple-style-span" face="arial"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="white-space: normal;">Thanks!</span></font></pre>

I have DRBD 8.0.16-5.el5.centos installed and primary and secondary running fine on a two node system.<div><br></div><div>We needed to add more storage so we took the secondary node down rebuilt the array, reinstalled the OS and are reinstalling services. At the point of reinstalling DRBD I am seeing that CentOS 5.5 wants me to install the drbd82 package rather than drbd package.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Can I install the drbd82 and kmod-drbd82 package and configure it to become a secondary to the old primary node running the old DRBD version to get the data to the larger array, make the new set up primary and then rebuild old primary to match new or will I have an issue with the two versions of DRBD correctly syncing data?</div>
