OK, Thank you very much for these explanations. I already use DRBD on two nodes with two disk and everything works fine. I was just wondering if I could use DRBD in this situation, I have the answer now :)<br><br>Thanx<br>

DRBD is for replication between two nodes,<br>
which typically form a HA cluster and/or desaster recovery group.<br>
<br>
DRBD is not the "I want my SANs to replicate,<br>
but don't want to pay the licence" solution.<br>
<br>
DRBD is the solution to _replace_ your single SAN box<br>
with a clustering solution, using e.g. Pacemaker + DRBD + iSCSI (+ NFS,<br>
+ SAMBA), and direct attached storage on the cluster nodes. For the<br>
price of one SAN, you can get the whole cluster + LINBIT support ;)<br>

Of course, that does not help you once you have those SANs already.<br>

So, YES, of course you can utilize DRBD to replicate between SANs, as<br>
well. Typically you'd have your SANs in different fire section (or<br>
different sites, even), and have (at least) one DRBD "head" node for<br>
each SAN. We at LINBIT have encountered quite a few interesting setups<br>
in that area.<br>

If you want to repliate within _one_ node, however,<br>
that is not DRBD's job.<br>
