First - get 100% sure that on "freezing" machine you have drbd module
which corresponds running kernel. I've got strange behavior and some
undocumented and unpredictable bugs when trying to insmod wrong module.

On Tue, Jul 15, 2008 at 12:02 PM, Thibaut Perrin <tperrindrbd@gmail.com> wrote:

I'm installing drbd on a 2 nodes system, and I'm facing a quite strange bug :

on NODE 1 :
when I do /etc/init.d/drbd status
drbd driver loaded OK; device status:
version: 8.2.6 (api:88/proto:86-88)
..........
***************************************************************
DRBD's startup script waits for the peer node(s) to appear.
[...]
To abort waiting enter 'yes' [ 16]:yes

root@gobelin:~# /etc/init.d/drbd status
drbd driver loaded OK; device status:
version: 8.2.6 (api:88/proto:86-88)
GIT-hash: 3e69822d3bb4920a8c1bfdf7d647169eba7d2eb4 build by root@troll, 2008-07-11 12:53:35
m:res cs st ds p mounted fstype

root@troll:~# /etc/init.d/drbd start
Starting DRBD resources: [ d(r0)

and it freezes... simply.

I have to restart the server. No ssh answer, no CTRL + C, it just simply freezes...

I tried to start it first on this node, to see if it was an "availibility" issue, but it seems not. As it freezes, I have no clue in the log files, nothing seems wrong.

Does anyone have already seen something like this before, is it a known bug ? Am I stupid or what ? :p

Thanks in advance, Cheers everyone.

Thibaut Perrin
