If you're going to run OCFS anyway, you could easily just run DRBD in primary/secondary mode, with heartbeat to manage the failover. Just export the device via iSCSI and you're good to go. Then, if you add a 3rd web server, it doesn't matter. Use DRBD/OCFS/iSCSI to make yourself a redundant SAN.<br><div> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: separate; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: auto; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 0px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0; "><div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline">Joe Koenig</div><div>Creative Anvil, Inc.</div><div>1346 Baur Blvd.</div><div>Olivette, MO 63132</div><div><a href="mailto:joe@creativeanvil.com">joe@creativeanvil.com</a></div><div><a href="http://www.creativeanvil.com">http://www.creativeanvil.com</a>/</div></span> </div><br><div><div>On Dec 24, 2007, at 12:39 PM, <<a href="mailto:vasiliy@linuxspecial.com">vasiliy@linuxspecial.com</a>> wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><blockquote type="cite"><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Ladies and Gents,</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; min-height: 14px; "><br></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Current project is asking for a clustered file system to be used in a small web farm.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Unfortunately, NFS is not an option at this point, for budget constraints... small client...</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; min-height: 14px; "><br></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Researching alternative options... and seeing DRBD primary/primary option with OCFS2 as a feasible alternative.</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; min-height: 14px; "><br></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Question...<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>You can only have 2 primary/primary nodes in such setup, correct?<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>In my case, if I got a 3rd web server, client would have to procure a NAS...</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; min-height: 14px; "><br></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Best Regards,</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; min-height: 14px; "><br></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Vasiliy Boulytchev</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">_______________________________________________</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">drbd-user mailing list</div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><a href="mailto:drbd-user@lists.linbit.com">drbd-user@lists.linbit.com</a></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><a href="http://lists.linbit.com/mailman/listinfo/drbd-user">http://lists.linbit.com/mailman/listinfo/drbd-user</a></div><div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; min-height: 14px; "><br></div> </blockquote></div><br></body></html>
