Heartbeat is deprecated, you should use corosync + pacemaker + drbd.
Pacemaker is in tech-preview under RHEL 6, so it's not updated often in
the main RHEL (and thus CentOS) repos, so be sure to add the
clusterlabs.org RPM next repo to your centos 6 nodes.

Beyond that, you need to tell us what kind of a cluster you want to
build. That is, what services are you trying to make highly available?
