Hello Using drbd + nfs + heartbeat on prod system with esxi 4 free without any problems. I have exprienced with iscsi target ietd but iscsi write performance of ietd was poor (20MB/sec over Gbit network direct crosscable) and even hearbeat integration has no problem i have to do iscsi target scan on the esxi host for datastore recognation after heartbeat transition I have no problem with nfs but my first drbd+nfs with ext3 FS servers were latest centos 5 i386 and suffered in term of performance and now i am using debian stable with xfs FS, I even not know which was causing problem (nfs or kernel or FS).
