[DRBD-user] The proposed SCSI / ATA extensions for unmap?

All,

I'm trying to get my head around these proposed new drive commands.

They result in "discarded" sectors / blocks / erase units having the
data in them become unstable / unreliable. Yet there is no proposed
command to let you know the status of individual sectors, etc.

If curious and you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can see
the thread I'm participating in at:

Has anyone on the drbd side given any thought to this?

I don't think drbd will be impacted one way or the other. ie. No
benefits / negatives that I can think of. Might need to add some code
to let the discard bios get through to the device and be mirrored to
the remote device, but I doubt that is a significant amount of work.

Thanks
Greg
