this was just a test with a _ram_disk_! So you're right with te 8 seconds.
My original aimed target is a 12TB Software RAID6 over 15+1 SATA-II disks. The md4 the speeds I just sent for is this 12TB device.
The sync is told to last for the next 36 hours on this device.
