Here is a snippet from our logs when drbd was restarted :

drbd0: conn( Unconnected -> WFConnection )
drbd0: Handshake successful: DRBD Network Protocol version 86

drbd0: Starting asender thread (from drbd0_receiver [3031])
drbd0: peer( Unknown -> Secondary ) conn( WFReportParams -> WFBitMapS )
pdsk( DUnknown -> UpToDate )
drbd0: Writing meta data super block now.
drbd0: conn( WFBitMapS -> SyncSource ) pdsk( UpToDate -> Inconsistent )
drbd0: Began resync as SyncSource (will sync 116928 KB [29232 bits
set]).

range md access!
drbd0: drbd0_worker [3018]:drbd_md_sync_page_io(,262151s,WRITE) out of
range md access!
drbd0: Resync done (total 1 sec; paused 0 sec; 116928 K/sec)
drbd0: conn( SyncSource -> Connected ) pdsk( Inconsistent -> UpToDate )
drbd0: Writing meta data super block now.

to my unskilled eyes this would appear to be an issue with the metadata
being too small perhaps ?

in any event, it seems the two nodes have synchronised fine - on the
second node I stopped drbd and ran a fsck.reiserfs on the underlying
block device to drbd. There were no errors.

However I'm a bit alarmed at these errors. What exactly might be the
cause ?

thanks in advance :D
