you remember that thread back in march?
verify that your heartbeat version includes this dopd patch:
http://hg.linux-ha.org/dev/rev/47f60bebe7b2

unfortunately neither upstream 2.1.3 nor debian 2.1.3 does.
sles10 SP2 has it.
don't know for redhat/centos.
