[DRBD-user] Upgrade from 0.7 to 0.8 possible without data loss?

it "should" work. it is intended to be used that way.
it did work for us in our testing environments.
but in case it eats your data for some reason,
and you don't have backups, that would be your problem, not mine ...

to avoid unneccessary fuss during an upgrade from 0.7 to 8.0.3
(which should be released this week),
make sure you are in "Connected Secondary/Secondary"
before you actually shutdown and unload the old version,
convert the meta data and go ahead with the upgrade.

but. thinking HA,
when 0.7.23 works for you, why would you want to upgrade a reliably
working known good production platform to a new version,
when you don't need the new features?

I mean, if you set up a new cluster, use 8.0.x.
if you think you want the new features, sure, go ahead with the upgrade.

but upgrading a known good HA platform just because there is a new
version with new features you don't need...
I think thats not how HA works.
