I can advice to configure underlying device as RAID 0, and rely on 
DRBD's redundancy (which is logically equivalent to RAID 1).  This way, 
you are quite likely to get *better* performance than RAID 5 without DRBD.

I have no actual experience with MySQL over DRBD, though.
