[DRBD-user] compile debian kernel with drbd module in deb

I am trying to determine the build steps neccessary to build a debian
kernel and include the drbd module in the kernel.
Can anyone provide more direction.
I know how to build the build the drbd module and compile a debian kernel.
Has anyone else done this?
Did they use debian patches?
Or go with a clean kernel?
