In light of  Ron O'Hara's recent bug report, i should probably describe my 
setup a bit more detailed.
I'm trying to run drbd on top of LVM2 which sits on a soft raid-5 on top of 3 
scsi drives. Ron's problem appears to be raid-only (no lvm), so the real 
cruelprint might be the raid stuff.....
