OK, this solved my problem!
I created the drbd.conf.5.gz also, and the handlers section is now
recognized. Thanks.

It would be nice to have MC use also the bz2 version of manpages, I
think it is now standard on gentoo, at least, my machines are fresh
installs, few days ago.
