I've noticed that it works with:
3.2.1-1 (debian/sarge)
3.5.9-2 (debian/sid)
but that it doesn't work with:

3.3.8-1.1 (debian/etch)

Rationale to the patch:

It talks about nByte < 0, and nByte not negative. So 0 is not
really good defined.

The patch is self explanatory I gues.
